Payments and payouts
How do I get paid on Nudge? You get paid when you reply. The tip is authorized on the asker's card when they ask, captured the moment you send your answer, and paid into your own Stripe account. When do I receive my money after I answer a question? The charge is captured as soon as you send your answer, then Stripe pays it out on your account's own schedule. Nudge does not hold your money and does not pay out monthly. How much does Nudge keep? What are the fees? You keep 90% of the price you set. Nudge takes the remaining 10%, and only when you get paid. There is no monthly fee and no setup fee, so a month where you answer nothing costs you nothing.Where does the money actually go when someone pays?Into your own Stripe account, in your name. Nudge never holds your earnings in an internal balance.Do I need a Stripe account to use Nudge?Yes. Stripe is how the money reaches you, and connecting it takes a few minutes during setup.Does a Nudge account cost anything? No. No monthly fee, no setup fee, no minimum and no contract. Nudge takes 10% of a tip when you are actually paid.Do I need to submit a tax form to get paid?Stripe collects whatever tax details it needs from you when you connect your account, and Stripe issues the tax documents for the money it pays you. Nudge is not your employer and withholds nothing. Why is there a hold on the card?Asking a question authorizes the amount on your card without taking it. That hold is what guarantees the coach gets paid when they answer, and it is released if they do not.Why is there a charge when no answer arrived? You should not. Nudge only captures the payment when the coach sends a reply, so a charge without an answer is either a pending authorization or a mistake worth reporting.A card keeps getting declined, what should be done?Declines come from the bank, not from Nudge, so the fastest fixes are a different card or a wallet like Apple Pay if the device offers it.Can an asker get a refund if the answer did not help? There is no automatic refund for an answer you did not like, because the coach did the work you paid for. If the answer did not address what you actually asked, contact support with the question and the reply. What currency are Nudge prices in?Prices are set and charged in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it at its own rate and may add its own fee. What happens if an asker disputes a payment?Stripe handles the dispute and your answer is the evidence. Because the payment is captured only when you reply, the delivered answer sits in the record alongside the charge.
Reply window and expiry
How long do I have to reply to a paid question?Seven days. Answer inside that window and the tip is captured; miss it and the authorization is released and the asker is not charged. What happens if a question expires before it is answered? The hold on the asker's card is released, the asker pays nothing, and the coach earns nothing from it.What if I do not want to answer a question?Leave it. It expires after 7 days, the asker is not charged, and you owe no explanation. Can askers send follow-up questions?Yes, and you decide how many are included in each tier. Anything beyond what the tier includes is a new paid question. How will I know when I get a new paid question?By email, and by text message if you have verified a phone number and turned on SMS notifications.I am not receiving notifications about new questions, what should I check?Check your spam and promotions folders first, since the notification is an email, then check that your phone number is verified and SMS notifications are on.
Setting your prices
How should I price my answers?Price it as paid access to you, not as a cheap offer. $50, $100 or $200 for a considered answer is premium positioning, and the coaches earning most on Nudge run four tiers rather than two.Can I charge different prices for text, voice and video answers?Yes. Each tier has its own price, its own format and its own reply window, so a written answer and a voice note can be priced differently. Can I change my prices later?Yes, whenever you like, and your link does not change. New questions use the new prices; questions already asked keep the price they were asked at.Can I offer a live call as well as written answers?Yes, as an optional tier with its own price. It is off unless you switch it on, and it is the only part of Nudge that involves scheduling. Can I set a custom price for a specific follower or VIP client? Not as a per-person price on your page today. The usual approach is a premium tier priced for the work you want to do for that kind of asker, and pointing them at it directly.
Formats and controls
What formats can I answer in?A written reply, a voice note, a video reply, or an optional live call. Each is a tier you can switch on or off. What if I do not want to answer with video?Switch that tier off. Every format is optional, and most coaches run text and voice only. How long can my voice or video answer be?Long enough for the tier you are answering. The length is something your own tier describes, for example a voice note up to three minutes at one price and up to eight at a higher one.How much of my time does answering questions actually take?A few minutes each, whenever suits you. There is nothing to schedule and no call unless you switch on that tier, so it does not touch the calendar you keep for client work.Do I need to download an app to use Nudge? No. Nudge runs in a web browser on a phone or a computer, and there is nothing to install. Can I record a voice or video answer on my phone?Yes, that is how most voice answers are recorded. Your browser will ask for microphone or camera permission the first time.
Getting started
How do I start on Nudge?Sign up, set prices for a few tiers, connect Stripe, and share the link. Your page lives at readnudge.com followed by your handle.Do I have to give Nudge access to my Instagram account? No. Nudge never asks for your Instagram login and needs no permission on any social account. You share a link, like any other link in your bio. What if I stop using Nudge?Remove the link. There is no contract, no notice period and no monthly fee to cancel, and anything already answered stays paid. What should my Nudge bio say?Name the exact problem you solve and who for, in one sentence. Askers decide whether to pay from your bio and your tier names, so specifics convert where credentials alone do not.Where should I share my Nudge link?Your bio link, your story highlights, and as a reply inside the DM thread where someone just asked you something long. The DM reply converts best, because the person is already asking.Does an asker need an account to ask a question? No. You go to the coach's page, write your question, pick a tier and pay. There is nothing to sign up for first.
Safety, privacy and scope
Is a question private?Yes. Your question and the coach's answer are between the two of you, and the answer is never published. Can a question be asked anonymously? On most coach pages, yes. Many coaches turn anonymous asking on because the questions worth paying for are the ones people would not put their name to.Can askers see my phone number or email? No. Questions and answers stay inside Nudge, and the asker never sees your personal contact details unless you put them in an answer yourself. What do I do with a question outside what I can help with?Do not answer it. Let it expire and the asker is not charged, or reply in one line naming the kind of professional they need, which captures the tip, so only do that if the pointer is genuinely worth it.What do I do with a crisis message, or someone who treats me as their therapist?Do not answer it as a coaching question. Let it expire, which costs the asker nothing, or reply in one line naming the help they actually need. Can I add a disclaimer to my Nudge page?Yes. Your bio and your tier descriptions are free text, and that is where to say that coaching is not therapy, legal or medical advice, and what you do not take questions about. What makes a good question to pay for?One specific situation, the detail that makes it yours, and the decision you are stuck on. Specific questions get long, usable answers; "any advice?" gets a paragraph.
Getting found and choosing a coach
Turning questions into clients
Can a paid question turn into a high-ticket coaching client?Often, and it qualifies better than a free discovery call, because someone who has paid you for one answer has shown both budget and intent. Will charging for an answer cheapen my premium coaching brand? Not if you price it as access to you. You set the number, and $50 to $200 for a considered answer reads as premium paid access. What cheapens a premium brand is giving the same advice away in DMs all day.How do I stop unqualified people booking my discovery calls?Put a priced question in front of the call. Anyone who will not pay for an answer was never going to pay for the programme, and you find out without giving away 45 minutes. How do I stop giving away free advice in my DMs?Keep answering, but move the long answers behind a paid link: reply briefly in the DM, then send your page for the full version. Nothing about your free content changes. How do I make money from my audience between launches?Keep a paid way to reach you open all year. A launch list goes cold between cohorts; an audience that has been paying you for answers arrives at the next launch already transacting with you.How can I help people who are not ready for my full programme?Give them a priced way to ask one question. Right now they get nothing, and people who get nothing drift to another coach or to a chatbot.
